Ferdinand Dux (born February 21, 1920 in Thale ; † October 23, 2009 in Bremerhaven ) was a German actor .
biography
Dux began his artistic career after 1945 as a stage actor. He received theater engagements in Schwerin , Magdeburg , Karlsruhe , Flensburg , Bremerhaven (here he appeared in 1969 together with Ilse Werner as King of Siam in The King and I ) and Essen .
Since the mid-1960s, Dux also increasingly took on roles in film and television. He starred in literary adaptations such as Max Frisch's Chinese Wall and the multi-part Jauche und Levkojen based on Christine Brückner , in numerous television films such as the comedy Sailing Makes You Free (with Evelyn Hamann ), in the drama Guppies for Tea (with Inge Meysel ) and the love film Eine special Love after Rosamunde Pilcher . He also appeared in various crime series such as Tatort and in elaborate TV series such as Felix Mitterer's satire Die Piefke-Saga and Dieter Wedel's Der große Bellheim , in which he portrayed the father of the title character embodied by Mario Adorf .
In addition, Dux was one of the long-standing ensembles of various family series such as No recipe for love and Engels & Consorten , A Bavarian on Rügen , Der Pfundskerl and Jurek Becker's east-west satire We are just one people . In contrast, Dux was rarely seen in cinema productions, for example in the dramas Das Heimweh des Walerjan Wróbel , The Man with the Trees (Jean Giono) and Fickende Fisch (directed by Almut Getto ). Dux became known to a younger audience primarily through his role as "Grandpa Brass", which he played from 1986 to 1999 on Sesame Street . In addition, Dux took on guest roles in numerous television series such as Percy Stuart , Sonderdezernat K1 , Der Alte , Großstadtrevier , Das Traumschiff and For all cases Stefanie - here mostly cast for the profound grandfather type.
In addition, Dux worked for many years as a speaker for radio and dubbing. He spoke the "Grandpa Bommel" in Otto Waalkes ' Kommando Störtebeker (2001) and participated in numerous radio plays for young people on the EUROPA label , including Demonenkiller , Asterix , Die Funk-Füchse and TKKG .
Since 1957 Ferdinand Dux was married to a ballet master . Dux died in 2009 at the age of 89 and found himself on the Ev.- Luth. The cemetery of the parish of Schiffdorf in the district of Cuxhaven is his final resting place.
