Thomas Finn (born May 12, 1967 in Evanston ) is an American-German writer of novels, games, plays and screenplays.

Life

Finn writes u. a. for the German role-playing game " Das Schwarze Auge " (DSA), of which he was a member of the editorial staff until it was dissolved in 2011.

Thomas Finn was born in Evanston in the Chicago metropolitan area in 1967 while his parents were on business in the USA, and as a result, he was also automatically granted US citizenship . Today he lives and works in Hamburg . Thomas Finn has three siblings. As a child he felt called to write, but initially wanted to be a biologist or chemist. In 1984 he became aware of “Das Schwarze Auge” and soon afterwards designed a fan magazine that lasted five years. After graduating from high school and doing military service , he completed an apprenticeship as an advertising clerk and then studied economics in Hamburg . In addition to his training and studies, he worked as a journalist and author for various German publishers and magazines in the fantastic genre and received his first prize in 1992, the “ZauberZeit Readers Prize”. After completing his diploma thesis, he worked for Ullmann Verlag in Hamburg for two and a half years as a lecturer and dramaturge. He was editor-in-chief for the magazine Nautilus - Abenteuer & Phantastik , the successor to ZauberZeit . Thomas Finn has been working full-time as an author and writer since 2001.
