Hadmar von Wieser (civil: Hadmar Wieser ; pseudonym Magus Magellan ; born August 18, 1963 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian author , artist and game designer who prefers to deal with fantasy , mythology and magic .

Names

Wieser gave "Hadmar Wieser" as the real name, since "in Austria [...] aristocratic names [are] completely banned since 1918". As his full name he called "Hadmar Kurt Alexander Erasmus Dragomir Freiherr von Wieser".

In his publications, Hadmar Wieser appears under the names "Hadmar von Wieser" or "Hadmar Freiherr von Wieser" - as shown in the imprint of his website.

In addition, Wieser emerged under the pseudonym "Magus Magellan".

In addition, Wieser stated in 2007 that Friedrich von Wieser was his “great-grandfather in a direct male line” and Eugen Böhm von Bawerk (Friedrich von Wieser's brother-in-law) his great-great-uncle.

Career

Wieser gave Mondsee in Upper Austria as his place of birth until 2007 , then Salzburg . He grew up in Mondsee. He attended the Musisches Gymnasium in Salzburg until 1981 and then began studying mathematics, law and psychology at the Paris-Lodron University in Salzburg .

In 1984 he became a fantasy writer. From 1986 to 2002 he was editor and role-play author for the role-playing game Das Schwarze Auge . Here he has written numerous adventure books and gathered background knowledge about the Aventurian world . His publications are also expanding into the new media , such as mobile solos for the cell phone .

After three months as a journalist for the broadcaster Antenne Salzburg , from 1999 he worked as a director, actor and stuntman in the group Lucifer . Since then he has increasingly occupied himself with esotericism and parapsychology.
