Magic time

The ZauberZeit , "The magazine for fantastic games and books", was from 1986 to 1993 a magazine for fantasy , role-playing games and all related topics.

The editor was Thomas M. Loock. The first editor-in-chief was Dieter Schmidt, who was soon replaced by Jürgen Pirner. The employees who were mostly still relatively unknown at the time were, for example, Thomas Finn , Bernhard Hennen , Alexander Huiskes , Uwe Anton , Christel Scheja and Wolfgang Jeschke .

The first issue featured DSA adventure scenarios, tin miniatures , a portrait of the author Michael Moorcock, and several newly published games and books on the subject. Regular sections also included interviews or short stories by well-known international authors, including Tanith Lee and Robert Asprin . This mixture was largely retained until the last issue.

The last issue, namely issue No. 38, dealt with the topic of horror, offered author and artist portraits, two competitions, book and game reviews, an interview with Wolfgang Hohlbein , a horror scenario and a small comic (Kroc the Goblin, Adventure of a "warm-up monster").

The first issues have been published every two months since 1986 by Citadel Verlag, Hamburg , which was later renamed Laurin Verlag . The last edition appeared in July 1993. When the Laurin publishing house went bankrupt, the ZauberZeit was discontinued. The successor was the magazine Nautilus in November 1993 , where many of the previous ZauberZeit employees continued their work.
