Christel Scheja (born April 19, 1965 in Solingen ) is a German writer . Occasionally she also publishes under her stage name Kris .

Life

She studied computer science and mathematics in Paderborn before retraining as a data processing clerk. Since 1997 she has been living and working in Solingen again.

Since 1978 Christel Scheja has not only been fascinated by the fantastic genres of fantasy , science fiction and horror , but has also worked creatively with them. In the course of time many novels, novellas and short stories as well as poems, essays and articles emerged, not least illustrations and pictures with fantastic motifs. A large part of it initially appeared in fanzines and semi-professional magazines such as Fantasia (EDFC), Follow (EDFC, Fantasy-Club), Taurus , Luna , Mephisto , Andromeda-Nachrichten (SFCD eV) and Äon Intern , but later also with various publishers.

With the Legendensänger Edition ( ISSN  0944-5714 ), Christel Scheja published her own fan series from 1989 to 2007, of which well over 150 issues have appeared. Some issues are exclusively dedicated to the Shared World Talastan , which she founded. From 2005 to 2010, together with Irene Salzmann, she published the online information magazine Rattus Libri , which mainly contains reviews of fantastic literature.

Between 1985 and 1995 Christel Scheja also made a significant contribution to the creation and description of the fantasy world Myra .

In 1995 and 1998 her two novels on the world of the black eye appeared in the Aventuria series . Several short stories in other publications on this role-playing world followed. She is also a co-author of the DSA regional description Reich des Horas , published in 2010 .

Unlike writing, she sees drawing primarily as relaxation, although her graphics are attracting a lot of attention in both role-playing magazines and on the Internet. From 2006 to 2014, her drawings appeared regularly in Elfenschrift magazine . She also created the covers for Andrea Tillmann 's novel Erik in the Land of Dragons and Tillmann's short story collections The Third Bangle and Dragon Fire .
