Thomas Hezel

Thomas Hezel (born May 23, 1961 in Oberndorf am Neckar ) is a German film director and entrepreneur.

Life

Thomas Hezel attended the technical high school in Rottweil . He completed a degree in psychology (diploma) with a neighboring subject in data processing at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen .

Television and cinema

In 1984 he enrolled in a video seminar at the University of Tübingen. After the seminar, the short film Ppirff was made , which was shown on Berlin cable television on November 27, 1985 and was shown as an open-air screen projection on June 26, 1986 at the video film festival of independent producers in Tübingen .

In the fall of 1985 Thomas Hezel moved to Berlin , where he worked as editor , cameraman and co-author for the magazine Visuell-Aktuell , creating articles on the Berlin art scene, which were broadcast on the newly founded open channel of Berlin cable television.

In 1988, after finishing his studies, Hezel started working as a driver for Regina Ziegler Filmproduktion . He did an assistant director internship with the American production Die Killer-Brigade (The Package) . He then worked as a continuity and script supervisor for various German series, television and cinema productions.

This was followed by several years as an assistant director for German television and cinema productions with an interlude as continuity and second-unit coordinator for the international film Duell - Enemy at the Gates by Jean-Jacques Annaud .

Increasingly, Hezel worked for German television productions abroad. He was brought to the dream ship by Wolfgang Rademann .

Finally, Studio Hamburg , for which he had already worked on five crime scenes with Manfred Krug , offered him a direction for the series Großstadtrevier . This was followed by two directing works for Rosamunde Pilcher in England ( Above the Clouds - in Cornwall and Summer of Love - in Poole ) and a television play Emilie Richards - Paradise at the End of the World , which was filmed in New Zealand and the foundation stone for a new ZDF - Series on Sunday evening.

Entrepreneur

Thomas Hezel is a member of the innovation forum IPTV - Internet-based television - television of the future. He runs an agency "hezel & partner" as a consultant for the automotive industry, for business associations, in the healthcare sector, renewable energies and in the real estate sector.
