Das Traumschiff: Bali is a German television film by Thomas Hezel and Karola Meeder from 2012. It is the 67th episode of the television series Das Traumschiff .

action

The Germany leaves for Bali . There are various passengers on board: the demanding factory owner Justus Bienatzky travels to Bali to meet his grandson Jasper and, after twelve years, to see his quarreled daughter Nicola again. Susanne Thielen and her new friend Dr. Peter Schmitz went on board to celebrate her 60th birthday during the trip. Her ex-husband Bernd is also on board and wanted to surprise his wife, who was still married to him. The situation is not easy for daughter Inka, who works on board and was previously a student of Peter. It is also not easy for Captain Paulsen, who recognizes his illegitimate son in the newly hired shipwright Sven Blankenhagen and does not know how to tell him.

Upon arrival in Bali, passengers have two days on shore. Jupiter sees his grandson and learns from him that Nicola knows nothing of his arrival. Jasper had secretly written Jupiter a letter, whereupon he came to Bali. The encounter between father and daughter is tense, the proud Nicola is in a bad financial situation, but does not want to accept any help from her father. Jupiter collapses and is taken to the ship. Only head hostess Beatrice can persuade Nicola to come back to Germany with her father, and on board, Justus offers a solemn apology and the reconciliation.

Bernd, Susanne, Peter and Inka go ashore together and Bernd switches Peter off while he is eating by sprinkling celery salt on the food and Peter, who is allergic to celery, has to be hospitalized. Bernd and Susanne are now spending Susanne's birthday together. Back on board, Peter first thinks that Inka put the salt on his food, but Susanne finds out that it was Bernd. She reacts angrily. Bernd apologizes to Peter and Susanne finally realizes how much Bernd still loves her. She also feels something for Bernd, so in the end she decides against Peter and for Bernd.

Sven finds out from a letter his recently deceased mother left him that Captain Paulsen is actually his father. Sven's wife and their baby came on board in Bali and his christening will be celebrated at the end - with Captain Paulsen not only as a proud grandfather, but also as godfather.

production

The dream ship: Bali was initially filmed on the Deutschland from February 2011 . The original plan was to name the film The Dream Ship: Vietnam and to set it up in Tokyo and Kyoto during the cherry blossom season . During the shooting, the Tōhoku earthquake and the subsequent nuclear disaster in Fukushima occurred on March 11, 2011 . As a result, the script was rewritten and the external shoots moved to Bali. Already wacky dialogues on the ship that relate to Japan had to be dubbed.

The film had its television premiere on January 1, 2012 on ZDF .
