Ulli Baumann

Ullrich "Ulli" Baumann (born August 8, 1962 in Stuttgart ) is a German film director and film producer .

Life

After studying art history and literary studies in Stuttgart, Baumann has been working as a director since 1988. He has directed and produced numerous television plays and series.

In 1995 he directed Club Las Piranjas . Between 1996 and 2002 he directed the pilot film and 91 episodes of the Comedy Nikola with Mariele Millowitsch and Walter Sittler in the leading roles. In 1997 the series won the UNDA special prize at the Golden Rose Festival in Montreux . In 1998 Baumann received the Adolf Grimme Prize for Nikola and in 2005 the German Television Prize for “Best Sitcom”.

Between 1998 and 2003 he directed the pilot film and 65 episodes of the series Rita's World , in which he had a cameo (season 3, possible car buyer in the episode Curve Wonder ). In addition to numerous series, he has shot music videos for the Fantastischen Vier , among others . Other comedy formats Baumann worked for were Alles Atze with comedian Atze Schröder, Mein Leben und Ich, and the ZDF series Typisch Mann! with Thomas Heinze, who was nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize and the German Television Prize in 2005.

Baumann lives in Cologne.
