The Siethoff Group's luxury hotel on Tobago is managed by the energetic hotel manager Kristina Trondheim. Accompanied by Markus Winter, her father, the former hotelier Paul Trondheim, travels to Tobago one day. The grumpy but good-natured eccentric wants to reconcile with his daughter, who has never forgiven him for his former gambling addiction and thus the ruin of the family. Kristina finds it difficult at first to forgive him and to believe him that he has given up his passion for gambling. In addition, the old man leaves no opportunity to arouse the daughter's displeasure with suggestions for improvement.
Markus Winter learns of the impending closure of a small hospital that is to give way to an amusement park.
