The Dream Hotel - Myanmar

Morocco is the title of a German-Austrian romance film from 2014 . The television film is the 20th and final part of the series Das Traumhotel .

action

General manager Markus Winter, just returned from an exhausting business trip, has to save his Siethoff hotel empire from the impending takeover by a group of shareholders in a lightning-fast operation. Heavily overloaded, he then suffers a circulatory collapse. In the hospital, the doctor urgently advises him to take a longer break if he does not want to endanger his health more seriously. Aunt Dorothea von Siethoff takes over the management of the hotel group again and sends Markus to Morocco to relax .

The Siethoff Group's luxury hotel in Morocco is managed by the capable Jamila. Markus' daughter Leonie is her deputy. She has just had a visit from her mother and Markus' ex-wife Gabrielle. Markus and Gabrielle have not seen each other since the difficult separation of their parents and Leonie tries to prevent an encounter so that old conflicts do not break out again - but without success. At first there was a heavy crunch between Markus and Gabrielle, but soon they realized: Old love doesn't rust!

Daughter Leonie met the medical doctor-to-be Ahmed in Morocco and would like to introduce him to her father as her future husband. However, there has been a lot of tension between Ahmed and Leonie lately. Leonie is very moody because she thinks she is seriously ill. When she finally confesses this to Ahmed and is examined in detail in a hospital, the reason for her discomfort becomes apparent: Leonie is pregnant.

Hotel director Jamila informs Leonie that the hotel is on a property that has allegedly been illegally acquired and that a dubious real estate group is making claims in the millions against the Siethoff Group. Dorothea von Siethoff arrives very worried, but soon realizes that she will not get any further without Markus' support. With the help of Ahmed, he soon finds out that behind the claims there is a large-scale fraud in which Jamila is also involved. Jamila vacates her post in favor of Leonie.

At the end of this last episode of the Traumhotel television series, Markus Winter, accompanied by Gabrielle, sets out on a sailing trip around the world and thus fulfills a long-cherished dream.

In the episode Das Traumhotel - Sterne über Thailand , Markus Winter telephoned his still-wife Susanne . In this last episode, Leonie's mother is now called Gabrielle .

criticism

The Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung commented on the last episode of the television series as follows: “[…] The discontinuation of this series is certainly not a big loss. But it is possible that actors, cameramen and assistants regret it: Now they have to pay for trips to exotic destinations themselves. [...] "

The dream hotel - Morocco was filmed from October 30th to November 23rd, 2013. Christoph Birkner created the costumes and Walter Dreier designed the production . The film premiered on October 31, 2014 on Das Erste .
