India is the title of a German-Austrian romance film from 2006 . The television film is the sixth part of the film series Das Traumhotel .
action
Dorothea von Siethoff, head of the global Siethoff hotel group and India lover, would like to organize a traditional festival of lights in her Indian dream hotel. She has urgently ordered her nephew and hotel manager Markus Winter to India to organize the planning of the celebrations. The presence of the Maharajah of Jaipur would give the festival an additional shine, but he waved off at first. As it soon turns out, Markus has a lot more to worry about than the festival of lights.
Prince Shandro, the son of the Maharajah, is an old friend of Markus from Vienna times. He fell in love with the hotel employee Nadine, but the maharajah has already chosen an Indian bride for his son who corresponds to the traditional standards and firmly rejects a connection between Shandro and the European Nadine. Markus is asked to influence the Maharajah, initially without success. Only when Shandro finally decides in favor of Nadine and renounces the succession does the Maharajah become self-conscious.
Jochen and Ella Prinz spend their vacation in the dream hotel with their children Lukas and Sabine. Jochen, a staid taxi driver, misses his usual Mallorca vacation and cannot understand his wife's enthusiasm for India. He would prefer not to move away from the hotel pool and, as usual, have his wife serve the cold beer. In the end, the two of them fall out, Ella leaves the hotel and places herself in the care of a guru. Markus reads the riot act to Jochen and brings the now completely desperate and repentant man back together with his wife.
Charlotte Thieme would also like to spend a few carefree days in India with her husband Rainer. But Rainer seems absent-minded, impatient and quick-tempered. Only after some time does the 50-year-old Rainer confess to his wife that he lost his job shortly before vacation and is now worried about his future. In the end, both of them find a solution: Charlotte resumes her job as interior designer, Rainer takes over the business side. Dorothea von Siethoff already has an order for Charlotte.
When the great festival of lights is finally celebrated, the Maharajah of Jaipur also appears, accompanied by his wife, and gives his blessing. Dorothea appoints Markus as the new General Manager of the Siethoff Group, because she now wants to withdraw into private life.
