Erol Sander , real name Urçun Salihoğlu , (born November 9, 1968 in Istanbul , Turkey ) is a German actor .

Life

Erol Sander came to Munich from Turkey in 1973 at the age of five with his mother and sister . After graduating from high school in Munich, he began studying economics and political science . In 1990 he went to Paris to work as a model for Armani , Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior, among others . Parallel to his work as a model, Sander took acting lessons. In Paris he later met the French Caroline Goddet, a niece of the film director Oliver Stone , whom he married in 2000; they have two sons.

In January 2018, Sander accepted a penalty warrant for drug possession in the amount of 25,200 euros; He is considered to have a criminal record, but neither the consumption nor the possession of drugs could be proven, as all the tests that he had voluntarily submitted to were negative. One domestic violence case has been dropped.

Acting career

He chose the stage name Erol Sander because his Turkish name Urçun Salihoğlu is difficult to pronounce.

Sander first appeared on screen in 1997 in the French television series Paradis d'enfer (directed by Dominique Masson). He made his debut on German television in 1999 as a TV commissioner of Turkish origin in the title role of Sinan Toprak .
