Dagmar Damek

Dagmar Damek (born June 14, 1944 in Brieg , Brieg district ) is a German film and television director and screenwriter .

Life

Damek grew up as the daughter of an architect in Augsburg . After graduating from high school, she first studied art and literary history for two semesters at the Sorbonne in Paris , then art history and performing arts in Mainz .

From 1967 to 1970 she studied at the University of Television and Film Munich and graduated as a director with the diploma film Puzzlespiele . After completing her studies, she worked as a television journalist , made documentaries and was assistant director to Hans W. Geißendörfer .

Damek has been a freelance director and screenwriter since 1974. She mainly shot television films, often based on literary models, as well as episodes from television series. According to her own website, Damek lives in Munich and has not been involved in any new film projects since 2011.
