Volker Elis Pilgrim (* 1942 in Wiesbaden as Volker Elis von Pilgrim) is a German writer . He also published nonfiction under the pseudonym Ellis Dohna and (since 2009) also under Max Melbo.

Life

Pilgrim grew up in the Mark Brandenburg , in a Berlin suburb (then GDR), and fled to the Federal Republic in 1960. He comes from a noble Prussian family from the Mark Brandenburg. Politically and privately, his parents came from Hermann Göring's circle , a topic that he has repeatedly dealt with in numerous books. He studied psychology , history and law , sociology , music (master class for piano) and film and theater studies in Göttingen, Frankfurt am Main, Wiesbaden and Munich and finally received his doctorate. Around 1980 he permanently broke off contact with his parents and his original milieu; this he dealt with in his book expulsion of parents .

He was best known as a representative of the men's movement ( Manifesto for the Free Man , Munich 1977) and vegetarianism ( ten reasons to stop eating meat under the pseudonym Ellis Dohna) in the 1970s. Pilgrim sat down in his widely read books that also mirror -Bestseller were as Elternaustreibung , father sons , mother's sons and Adieu Marx with the parent-child relationship apart. The central theme of his books are, among other things, obstacles to development caused by dependence on parents' projections.

After his general “men's research” as a private scholar, he spent 20 years researching the phenomenon of the serial killer. His books You can call me Frau Hitler and the epic Hitler 1 and Hitler 2 , which appeared in four volumes, are the results of this time.

Pilgrim lived alternately in Australia and New Zealand from 1982 to 2008 . In 1989 he became an Australian citizen and changed his name to Max Melbo. Returning to Germany in 2008, he published the following year as Max Melbo Die Königfälschung , in which he argued that Louis XIV was not the birth child of his parents, Louis XIII. and Anna of Austria .
