Carsphairn is a village in the Council Area of Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland .
geography
The place is 36 kilometers southeast of Ayr and 37 kilometers northwest of Castle Douglas in the Galloway Forest Park , in the area of "the Glenkens", the eastern part of the Rhinns of Kells mountain range . The neighboring towns are New Cumnock and Sanquhar in the northeast, Moniaive in the east, St John's Town of Dalry in the southeast, Newton Stewart in the southwest, Girvan in the west and Dalleagles in the northwest.
