Schnee in Rio is a German short film by the filmmaker duo Manuel Vogel and Konrad Simon from 2014. The main roles are played by Andreas Thiele , Erol Sander and Jil Funke . The film premiered at the 48th Hof Film Festival in 2014. The television premiere took place on June 10, 2015 on NDR .

One night in 1960: a train on its way through the Iron Curtain . Sebastian was actually supposed to have a painting with him on his way to Prague. But when he finds someone dead in the toilet, he is already in the middle of the bizarre world of agents of the 1960s. To save the painting and his life he has to take on the Scottish secret agent Richard Sterling as well as the Russian agent Irina Romanova and the notorious art thief Red Scorpio.

Locations

Snow in Rio was filmed in historic wagons of the Franconian Museum Railway in Nuremberg in November 2013 . The recordings for the intro sequence in the style of an old James Bond intro took place in the studios of the Macromedia University in Munich.

Film music

The soundtrack for the film was composed by Jonas Grauer.

The title track The Way You Die is based on the old James Bond songs and was written by Jonas Grauer, Alice Merton and Konrad Simon and sung by Laura Bellon.

Television broadcasts and publications

Snow in Rio was first broadcast by NDR on June 10, 2015 . This was followed by television broadcasts on Bavarian radio and on the UNICATO program on MDR .

Snow in Rio was released on the Shocking Shorts DVD in the course of the Shocking Shorts Awards 2016 and has since been shown regularly on the pay-TV channel 13th Street , Shocking Shorts' partner channel .

In 2018, Snow in Rio was published online on Amazon Prime Video Germany.
