Shocking Shorts Award
The 13th Street Shocking Short , also known as the Shocking Shorts Award , is a short film award that the pay-TV broadcaster 13th Street has been awarding to young directors since it was launched in 1999 and which serves to promote the next generation of film talent. Every year a prominent jury selects the best short film from the genres of action , crime , thriller , mystery and horror . The award is presented at the Munich Film Festival .
The winners of the 13th Street Shocking Short are allowed to take part in the Universal Studios Filmmasters Program in Los Angeles and, in two weeks, go through all the major departments of Universal Studios , such as script development, production and marketing, and are on the set of a Hollywood production.
In addition, the nominated short films will be shown as Shocking Shorts on 13th Street and in the "Long Night of Shocking Shorts" in various cinemas across Germany. The Shocking Shorts are also produced on DVD and Blu-ray.
