Rasmus Borowski (born May 21, 1974 in Hamburg ) is a German composer , singer and voice actor .

Life

Life and education

Rasmus Borowski was born in Hamburg in 1974 . His parents, sound engineer Richard Borowski and singer Gabi Borowski, often took their son to the movies, where Rasmus discovered his passion for film and music. At the age of four Rasmus recorded vocal recordings in the studio for the first time and at the age of seven he received guitar lessons. He also shot his first short films with his father's Super 8 camera. In 1985 he moved with his mother first to Braunschweig and then to Zimbabwe in 1988 , where Rasmus attended an English-language boarding school. In 1990 Rasmus returned to Braunschweig to continue his German school career.

After graduating from high school, he took guitar lessons with Andreas Becker ( Fee , Peter Maffay ), singing lessons with Jane Comerford ( Texas Lightning ), lessons in composition and arrangement for orchestra with Matthias Petereit, as well as acting and speaking lessons with Professor Marianne Bernhardt at the Hochschule für Musik and Theater Hamburg .

In 1998/2002 Rasmus completed the contact course in popular music ( pop course ) at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . Rasmus attended masterclasses for composition with Oscar-winner Jan AP Kaczmarek and Japanese Academy Award-winner Shigeru Umebayashi . In 2006, Rasmus completed the Filmmasters Program at Universal Studios in Los Angeles .

Rasmus Borowski lives and works in Hamburg and Berlin.

Bands

From 1996 to 1998 Rasmus Borowski was a songwriter and guitarist for the alternative rock band Out . From 1998 to 2006 he was the singer and songwriter of the rock band Lust and the pop project Borowski & Drusell .

Voice actor, radio play speaker and actor

Rasmus Borowski has been working as a voice actor since 2000 and lends his voice to stars such as Luke Evans , Martin Compston , Tom Burke and Jim Watson. In the BBC series Line of Duty he speaks for Martin Compston the role of Steve Arnott.

In radio plays like Die drei ??? , TKKG and Fünf Freunde Rasmus can be heard under the direction of Heikedine Körting . In the feature film SMS für Dich , Rasmus can be seen in the role of Martin, directed by Karoline Herfurth .

He also played in the short films The Upgrader , The Dead Meat and Todd and the death of the director Philipp Scholz.

Movie

In 2004 Rasmus Borowski produced the short film Der Beste together with Arne Jysch , for which they also wrote the script and directed together.

The best won numerous prizes, including the 2006 Shocking Shorts Award from television station 13th Street . Rasmus was then invited to Universal Studios in Los Angeles to complete the Filmmasters Program .

Film music composer

Inspired by the film music composers of his childhood, Rasmus Borowski composed his first film music for the short film Der Beste and recorded it with a string ensemble and various solo instruments. The score for a number of other short films followed, such as B. Meat the Campbells , The Dead Meat or Todd and Death . He also worked with the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Warsaw to record his own compositions for large orchestra.

In 2014 Rasmus Borowski composed the film music for the BBC series Teacup Travels together with Alexius Tschallener . Together they wrote over 350 minutes of music for a total of 25 episodes of the Edinburgh- produced adventure series. The classical orchestral music for Teacup Travels was recorded in October 2014 with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Nic Raine in the Smecky Music Studios in Prague .
