Crossover

In April 2013, a radio play crossover from John Sinclair to another radio play series was realized for the first time with Edition 2000 episode 83 A Life Among the Dead . Episode 21 Herbstwind of the radio play series Dorian Hunter is identical in content to Sinclair episode 83, but both episodes tell the story from the other's point of view. In the special edition 11 Deadwood - City of Coffins there was another crossover with Dorian Hunter and the witch Coco Zamis.

There were also some radio plays in which the French para-psychologist Professor Zamorra (Edition-2000 episodes 12 The Witcher of Paris , 13 Trapped in the Micro World , 65 The Vampire's Nest ), as well as the white witch Damona King (Edition-2000 episode 27 Asmodina's Angel of Death ). These are also Bastei novel book series heroes and also appear in the John Sinclair stories in the Ghost Crime series.

In the special editions 8 Oculus - In the Eye of the Storm and 9 Oculus - The End of Time , there was also a crossover with the witcher of Salem . The two Oculus pocket books that served as models for the radio plays, like the Hexer series of novels, were penned by Wolfgang Hohlbein .

John Sinclair Classics

Template: Infobox radio play

The radio play series “Sinclair Classics” produced by Lübbe-Audio has been released since March 2010. This sets the Sinclair adventures from the ghost thrillers to music , which are set before the "Edition 2000". The series uses the same speakers as the "Edition 2000". The new edition of the special edition The Beginning formed the beginning of the series.

From episode 10 Dietmar Wunder John Sinclair speaks to highlight the age difference between the Classics and Edition 2000.

Furthermore, from episode 9 onwards, the chronological order of the novel was no longer adhered to. Episode 9 The Night of the Black Dragon is actually only number 39 in the original order.

The setting of the novel Der Unheimliche von Dartmoor (GK 163), which would actually be part of the Classics series as an adaptation of a ghost crime novel , was omitted and instead published outside of the series as special edition 13.

Chronology of the plot of all episodes

The chronology of the radio plays does not entirely correspond to the series of novels. In addition, the plot has also been changed. The radio play series thus represents a retelling .

The Classic series takes place before the main series. Since the main series was produced much earlier in time, contradictions in time also arise. For example, John is already posting on Facebook in the Classic series , while the first mobile phones appear at the beginning of the main series , for example with Damona, the servant of Satan (JS4). The plot remains coherent, apart from exceptions like in JSC11 The Blood Count .

In the overview, the Special Editions (SE) are sorted according to the date of publication, but fit into the plot as self-contained parts. The SE01 is the first episode but was released again as the first part of the Classic series. SE02 was appropriately classified in the booklet by Der Pfähler between the Classic series and the main series. This is different from the novel series. There this episode plays at a later point in time.

Cover pictures

The cover pictures of the booklet novels are used on the CD cover for Edition 2000 . These date from the 1970s and 1980s and were mostly made by the Spanish painter Vicente B. Ballestar . In a few cases, new covers were made (39 Screams in the Horror Crypt , 42 Bloody Halloween ) or covers from other booklets were used (for 15 The Ghost Bride , the cover picture comes from the Demon Land novel 92, for 50 Zombies in Manhattan it comes from Cover picture from Sinclair booklet 1514; at 66 Hexenwahn from booklet novel 1679 and at 67 The crypt with the hell eye from booklet novel 474). Furthermore, the cover of the magazine novel 245 Verdammt und Buried was printed for 65 Das Vampirnest , but when this novel was set to music as episode 94 years later, a new cover picture had to be found. This comes from the artist Nikolai Lutohin and was used years earlier for the reprint of the novel 15 The Blood Count in the fourth edition by ghost hunter John Sinclair . For the Classics , new and therefore more modern illustrations by the German artist Timo Würz are used.
