Bernd Rumpf

Bernd Rumpf (born March 21, 1947 in Göttingen ; † October 1, 2019 ) was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Rumpf completed an apprenticeship in acting and pantomime at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen .

As a speaker, he was the German standard voice of Liam Neeson from the mid-1990s , for example in Nell (as Dr. Jerome "Jerry" Lovell ), in Before and after (as Ben Ryan ), in Star Wars: Episode I - The Dark One Menace , The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels (as Qui-Gon Jinn ), in 96 Hours (as Bryan Mills ), in Batman Begins (as Henri Ducard \ Ra's Al Ghul ), in Family Guy (Season 13, episode: Irish Battles as Liam Neeson ) and in Battleship (as Admiral Shane ). In 2010 he was hired by the Franco-German television broadcaster Arte as the new German voice of the British actor Patrick McGoohan, who died in 2009, and his role as number 6 in the series of the same name. He won a casting for this role by orienting himself on the voice of his colleague and predecessor Erich Hallhuber. Rickman von Rumpf was also voiced in Sweeney Todd (as Judge Turpin ) and Perfume: The Tale of a Murderer (as Antoine Richis ). He also played the role of Absolem in Tim Burton's film Alice in Wonderland , which was originally voiced by Alan Rickman. Bernd Rumpf received several awards for his speaking roles.

Since 1974 Bernd Rumpf has played in various theaters , such as the Theater am Neumarkt and the Schauspielhaus in Zurich as well as the Deutsches Theater Berlin as a theater actor . He was also involved in various television series , such as In Love in Berlin or Rote Rosen .

Rumpf was married to the actress Roswitha Dost . He died on October 1, 2019 at the age of 72.
