Star Wars Rebels is an American computer animation series set in the fictional Star Wars universe of George Lucas . It is the follow-up series to Star Wars: The Clone Wars , which was temporarily discontinued after six seasons due to Rebels in 2014. In 2020, two years after the end of Rebels , another season The Clone Wars was released. The premiere in the United States took place on October 3, 2014 on the Disney Channel . The sister broadcaster Disney XD took over the first broadcast on October 13, 2014 . The German premiere took place on the German Disney XD on the same day . Many comics and novels were published for the series, which tell other stories in the Rebels universe. The four seasons include 76 episodes that premiered from 2014 to 2018.

action

Star Wars Rebels tells the story of orphan boy Ezra Bridger, who joins a group of lawless freedom fighters and is instructed in the use of the force by their leader Kanan Jarrus, a hidden Jedi . The events of the series take place 14 years after Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and five years before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope .

Recurring plot elements are the Jedi training of Ezra, sabotage operations against the Empire and the persecution of surviving Jedi by Darth Vader's henchmen known as inquisitors and other agents of the Empire.

Series

The consequences of the series The Powers of Fate take place at different times, so that a list in the table is not meaningful. Also not listed miniseries, short stories, comics, books and other ancillary works of the official Star Wars - canon and the theme park Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (between VIII and IX). The fictitious calendar of the Star Wars universe is used for the schematic classification of the actions . This differentiates between the years before the Battle of Yavin (VSY) and after the Battle of Yavin (NSY). The Battle of Yavin IV marks the end of Star Wars (1977), in which Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance destroy the first Death Star .

synchronization

The series was translated into German on behalf of Disney XD (Germany). The dialogue book is directed by Magdalena Turba and the dialogue director is Christian Press .
