Star Wars Resistance is an American animated series that takes place in the fictional Star Wars universe of George Lucas and is set before Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The series is part of the official canon of the Star Wars universe.
The series premiered on October 7, 2018 on the US Disney Channel . The series has been broadcast on the German branch Disney XD since October 13, 2018 . During the winter break of the first season, the order for another season was confirmed. The second season aired from October 6, 2019 and is the final season. The series ended on January 26, 2020 after two seasons, forty episodes and twelve short episodes.

Young Kazuda Xiono, a New Republic pilot, is rescued by Resistance pilot Poe Dameron after an argument with the First Order . On the corvette of the resistance, Poe Kazuda offers a mission: to spy for the resistance. Together with the droid BB-8 they travel to the planet Castilon, where the space filling station called Colossus is also located. They meet Neeko Vozo, who is a friend of Poe. He brings her to Jarek Yeager, a former Rebel Alliance pilot. Poe asks Yeager to take Kazuda in, but he doesn't want anything to do with the mission. Meanwhile, Neeko tells the other visitors that Kazuda is the best pilot in the galaxy. As a result, Kazuda involuntarily has to take part in a race because Neeko has already reported him and has also placed bets on the outcome. Yeager agrees with a heavy heart and Kazuda is allowed to stay. Poe asks BB-8 to stay with Kazuda to keep an eye on him and take care of him. Kazuda now also meets Yeager's crew, Team Fireball. Meanwhile, Kazuda picks his opponent for the race and chooses Torra Doza, the 16-year-old daughter of Captain Doza, the manager of the gas station. During the race, however, Kazuda falls into the water and thus loses. Kazuda is now Team Fireball's new mechanic.
During the months of his stay at the gas station, Kaz learns that Torra's father works with the First Order, the mysterious Kylo Ren with the First Order is committing genocide of some races, Captain Doza was a former officer of the Empire, and that First Order living beings kidnapped. On a mission with Poe Dameron, the two discover that the First Order made experiments with asteroids and planets by partially destroying them.
