Donald Adeosun Faison (born June 22, 1974 in New York ) is an American actor . He is best known for his role in the comedy series Scrubs (2001-2010).

life and career

Donald Faison was born in New York in 1974, the oldest of three brothers. His parents, Shirley and Donald, worked as actors at Harlem's National Black Theater . The relationship with his mother had a significant impact on his decision to pursue an acting career. He describes her as "his greatest heroine" ("My biggest hero has always been my mother.") And names one of her theater rehearsals as one of his earliest memories.

Faison attended Children's School for the Development of Intuitive and God-Conscious Art , an institution of the National Black Theater . With his younger brothers Dade and Olamide, he tested his acting talent in small private films. At the age of six he played a role in the play When the Lion Roars , which he had previously been involved in developing.

Faison got his first commercial television experience at the age of five in a commercial for the breakfast cereal brand Oatmeal Raisin Crisp . Several appearances in the US version of Sesame Street followed during the 1980s.
