Waiting to Exhale - Waiting for Mr. Right (Original title: Waiting to Exhale ) is an American comedy film from 1995.

action

The film is about the friends Savannah , Bernadine , Gloria and Robin . All four have problems with men and relationships with men. Bernadine believes she has already found the man of her life, but is left by him on New Year's Eve. Savannah is a career woman, but she is less successful in love. Robin is the male murderer among women. But when it comes to love, she's still at the beginning.

Gloria owns her own hair salon and has a son. Savannah's single mother tries to set up her daughter with her married ex-boyfriend. Robin, who always falls in love with the wrong men, starts again with her ex-Russel and leaves the drug addict Troy.

In order to finally break away from her husband, Bernadine, out of anger, packs up her (ex) husband's things, stuffs them into a car and sets it on fire. Gloria's love life is more complicated than ever. Her son's father comes out. But your new neighbor is really nice. In the end, everyone will be happy, but only one with one man.

Reviews

  • epd Film : Since “Bodyguard” was a surprising as well as outstanding box office success, the expectation of repetition is obvious ... With his (cinema) directorial debut, actor Forest Whitaker ... should have succeeded in making a “feel-good movie” that was spread through word of mouth should maintain in the favor of the public for a long time.
  • Film Echo / Film Week : Apart from the fact that the men almost without exception get off badly, “Waiting for Mr. Right” also represents a humorous alternative to the usual black cinema with its problem constants such as racial conflicts and ghetto misery.
