Lela Rochon (* 17th April 1964 in Los Angeles as Lela Rochon Staples ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Rochon graduated from Cerritos High School, California, in 1982 . She made her debut in a minor supporting role in the 1984 musical film Breakin ' , in which Adolfo Quinones played one of the bigger roles. In the comedy Harlem Nights (1989) she starred on the side of Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor . In 1995, she was next to John Witherspoon in the television series The Wayans Bros. to see.

Rochon played in the comedy Waiting for Mr. Right (1995) alongside Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett one of the bigger roles, for which she was nominated in 1996 for the MTV Movie Award and for the Image Award . In the action-comedy The Big Hit (1998) she played the role of Chantel , one of the two girlfriends of Melvin Smiley , the Mark Wahlberg played. In Oliver Stone's drama Every Damn Sunday (1999) she starred alongside Al Pacino and Cameron Diaz .

Rochon was married to actor Adolfo Quinones from 1984 to 1987 . In 1999 she married the director Antoine Fuqua , with whom she has three children.
