Cameron Diaz
Cameron Michelle Diaz (born August 30, 1972 in San Diego , California ) is an American actress , voice actress and former model .
life and career
Cameron Diaz's father comes from Cuba , she has German , English and Indian ancestors on her mother's side . She went to a class with Snoop Dogg in high school . She left home at the age of 16 and worked as a model in various countries, including Japan , Australia , Mexico and France , for the next five years .
She returned to California at the age of 21, initially continuing to work as a model, including in a BDSM video, and auditioned for the female lead in The Mask (1994). The box office success earned her other roles in films like Minnesota or My Best Friend's Wedding .
Diaz had her big breakthrough in 1998 with the comedy Crazy About Mary , which earned her her first Golden Globe nomination. Then Diaz turned to the independent film . Her roles in Being John Malkovich and Oliver Stones Every Fucking Sunday earned her positive reviews. She earned her second Golden Globe nomination for Being John Malkovich in 1999.
In 2000, Diaz then appeared in the remake 3 Angels for Charlie . Thanks to the commercial success of the first part, the sequel followed in 2003, which found little favor with film reviews (but was just as successful with grossing US $ 259 million ). The film was nominated for seven golden raspberries . Even during the shooting, Diaz spoke out against a third part because she wanted to continue to work in serious film productions in the future.
In 2001 she starred in Vanilla Sky alongside Tom Cruise and Penélope Cruz and in 2002 in the ten Academy Award nominated Gangs of New York by director Martin Scorsese . She was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for both films . In 2004 she took on the role of Maggie in the film In My Sister's Shoes at the side of Shirley MacLaine and Toni Collette . After another popular success, Diaz got a role in the film Love Doesn't Have a Vacation alongside Jude Law , Kate Winslet and Jack Black . In her next film, Diaz played opposite Ashton Kutcher in Love Vegas . The film received poor reviews, with Diaz and Kutcher each being nominated for a Golden Raspberry.
In 2009, Diaz played the mother of a child suffering from leukemia in the novel When My Sister's Life was born . In 2010 she was in the action-comedy Knight and Day alongside Tom Cruise to be seen. Appearances followed, especially in film comedies. In 2014 she appeared in Annie , her last appearance as an actress to date. Her work includes 56 film and television productions.
On June 22, 2009, Cameron Diaz was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Grauman's Egyptian Theater ) in the film category.
On March 12, 2018, close friend Selma Blair announced that Diaz had ended her acting career. She was "done" with Hollywood and satisfied as a housewife.
In the meantime, Diaz was one of the best-paid actresses in Hollywood . After receiving a salary of $ 30 million for Shrek the Third , she took first place in the Forbes rankings with an income of $ 50 million (between June 2007 and June 2008, including advertising income).
Diaz's standard German voice actress is Katrin Fröhlich .
Personal
Diaz had a relationship with producer Carlos de la Torre from 1990 to 1995. From 1996 to 1998 she was in a relationship with Matt Dillon and from 1999 to 2003 with the actor and musician Jared Leto . Diaz lived with Justin Timberlake from 2003 to January 2007 . Between July 2010 and September 2011, she and baseball player Alex Rodriguez were a couple.
