Christina Walters, who lives in San Francisco, meets Peter Donahue in a discotheque. Peter's brother Roger invites Christina to his wedding, at which Peter is allegedly the best man. When Christina and her friend Courtney Rockcliffe arrive at the church after numerous adventures, they discover that the truth is that Peter is supposed to be married. They leave the church in a rush. At the last moment the couple decided not to marry.

Some time later, Christina finds Peter at the entrance to her house. Even though she is in love with him, she lets him go. A moment later she runs after Peter and sees that Peter is buying flowers for a second attempt at reconciliation. The two kiss. In the final scene you can see on a photo that the two got married.
