Frank Grillo (born June 8, 1965 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Frank Grillo was born in New York, the oldest of three siblings. In high school he first came with acting in touch when he starred there in the school theater in many ways. However, this was not the only passion he had in school because he loved the sport and dreamed of becoming a professional athlete. However, his parents had different ideas, which is why he studied economics at New York University and successfully completed this course.

He then worked on Wall Street for a year until he met a casting agent who offered him a job in a beer commercial. Frank agreed and received further offers for commercials and guest appearances in series such as Silk Stalkings and Poltergeist - Die eheimliche Macht . His first major supporting role was that of "Hart Jessup" in the Springfield Story series , which he played for three years. In 2011 he starred alongside Tom Hardy , Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte in the action sports drama Warrior and in the thriller The Gray alongside Liam Neeson .

In 2014 he played the role of Brock Rumlow , one of the opponents of the title hero , in the action film The Return of the First Avenger . He took on this role again in 2016 under the alias Crossbones in The First Avenger: Civil War .

From 1991 to 1998 he was married to Kathy Grillo ; the two have a son. After divorcing Kathy, he met actress Wendy Moniz , whom he married on October 28, 2000. He has two other sons with her, born in August 2004 and January 2008.
