Parker Christian Posey (born November 8, 1968 in Baltimore , Maryland ) is an American actress . Among other things, she is known as the "Queen of Independent Films".

life and career

Posey studied drama at the State University of New York with fellow actors Sherry Stringfield and Orlagh Cassidy . She made her debut as an actress in 1991 in the television series Young and Passionate , Her first leading role was in the film Crazy Party Girl (1995). In the film, e-mail for you (1998) she starred alongside Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan , in the movie Scream 3 (2000) alongside David Arquette and Courteney Cox , in the film The Sweetest Thing Super (2002) alongside Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate . She won the Florida Film Critics Circle Award for her role in A Mighty Wind (2003) .

Posey played in about 30 independent films , making them by the magazine TIME as Queen of Independent Films ( Queen of the Indies ) was called. She herself sometimes publishes articles in the literary magazine Open City .

Posey got her first name after the model and actress Suzy Parker . She lives in New York City .
