Young and Passionate - As the World Turns (Original title: As the World Turns ) is an American television series that was broadcast on Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS). At 54, the series was the second longest-aired soap opera in the world. In the list of the longest television series, there is only Springfield Story before that television series. Nevertheless, the home broadcaster CBS announced on December 9, 2009 that the series would be phased out, and the very last episode ran on September 17, 2010. A special feature of As the World Turns is also that the rights to it have been Procter & Gamble , which produced and sponsored the series through to its final broadcast.

General

Young and Passionate - As Life Play has been broadcast in the United States on CBS since April 2, 1956. More than 13,400 episodes were produced. The idea for the series came from Irna Phillips . The episodes of the show were thirty minutes long in the early years; later they were extended to sixty minutes. Internationally, outside of the United States, the series is currently only broadcast in Canada on Global TV and on NTV in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as in the Netherlands on RTL 4 since 1990 and on RTL 8 since 2007. In Germany, the series was first broadcast by RTLplus and from 1993 by VOX .

plot

The US soap opera As the World Turns takes place in the fictional town of Oakdale , Illinois . The show revolves around the lives of various fictional families and individuals. Various social issues are discussed in the soap opera .
