Danny Pintauro

Daniel "Danny" John Pintauro (born January 6, 1976 in Milltown , New Jersey , USA ) is an American actor . In Germany he was mainly through his role as Jonathan Bower in the sitcom Who is the boss here? known.

Life

Pintauro is the son of Margaret L. Sillcocks and John J. Pintauro, a manager. From 1994 he attended Middlesex County College in Edison and studied English language and drama at Stanford University in California until he graduated in June 1998 .

In September 2015, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey , Pintauro announced that he has been HIV positive since 2003 . He contracted HIV after unprotected sexual intercourse as a result of methamphetamine abuse.

In 2014 he married his partner, entertainer Wil Tabares, in California; he lives in Las Vegas with his husband .

Career

Already at the age of six, Pintauro stood for the first time for the soap opera Young and Passionate - As Life Plays in Front of the Camera, in which he played the role of Paul Ryan from 1982 to 1985 .

He had one of his first film roles in 1983 in the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel Cujo . From 1984 he played Jonathan Bower in the series Who's Here the Boss? Which he played until the series was discontinued in 1992. He also had supporting roles in television series such as An Engel auf Erden (2 episodes, His best friend ) and films such as The Beniker Gang (1985) and The Time Trap (Timestalkers) in 1987.

He came into public focus in 1997 when he came out in an interview under pressure from The National Enquirer . During this time he received support from his former film mother Judith Light .

After graduating, he concentrated on the theater and starred in Shrill Nights in New York (The Velocity of Gary) (1999), the puck in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream in Ithaca (2001) and in Mommie Queerest (2012).

In 2005 there was a reunion with his series family from Who is the boss here? on his former fellow actor Tony Danza’s Tony Danza Show .

In 2006 he appeared in a supporting role in the film The Still Life and in 2010 he had a guest appearance on the television series The Secret Life of the American Teenager and in the comedy format Laugh Track Mash-ups , which was discontinued after only four episodes Page by Dan Levy. In the meantime, Pintauro earned his living selling the Tupperware brand .

2016 he played in the second season by crowdfunding funded web series Unsure / Positive. dealing with the challenges HIV positive people face in life; the format was screened at the Boston International Film Festival in April 2017

Pintauro, who has largely retired from acting, works in the Las Vegas Valley as the restaurant manager of an Asian casual dining restaurant chain.
