Joseph Cross

Joseph Michael Cross (born May 28, 1986 in New Brunswick , New Jersey ) is an American actor , producer and director , best known for his role as Joshua A. Beal in the dramedy Wide Awake (1998).

Life

Cross was born in the east American city of New Jersey to Maureen and Michael Cross. He has four siblings, Liz, Brian, James and Andrew. In his childhood he loved going on many adventure trips into nature. He attended Trinity College in Hartford .

Joseph Cross made his screen debut in 1998 in the Hollywood film Wide Awake by Indian-born director M. Night Shyamalan . After his performance as an actor, he was also in the thriller Desperate Measures with Brian Cox and Michael Keaton and in the film Jack Frost in the same year . Between 1990 and 2004 he played in seven television series with, among others, The O'Keefes (2003) and Smallville (2004).

In 2005 he took on the role of Young Barry in Homecoming and played Derrick Blank in Strangers with Candy . In 2006 he was in the war film Flags of Our Fathers by Clint Eastwood and in Krass by Ryan Murphy. Director Gregory Hoblit hired Cross in 2007 to cast Owen Reilly in the thriller Untraceable . This was followed by appearances in Gangsters (2011) and the award-winning Lincoln (2012) by Steven Spielberg . In 2019, Joseph Cross directed and produced the film Summer Night .

Cross is also the guitarist of the rock band Roostir .
