Elizabeth Hubbard

Elizabeth Hubbard (born December 22, 1933 in New York City ) is an American actress . She achieved fame through her role as Lucinda Walsh in Young and Passionate - As Life Plays , which she embodied from 1984 to 2010.

Life

Elizabeth Hubbard was born in 1933 as one of three children to physicist Elizabeth Wright Hubbard (1896–1967) and Benjamin Alldritt Hubbard. She attended Radcliffe College before going to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London , where she was one of the first American students to receive the Academy's silver medal.

Hubbard began her acting career in 1962 in the role of Anne Fletcher in the soap opera Springfield Story . The following year she also appeared as Carol Kramer in The Edge of Night . In 1964 she received the role of Dr. Althea Davis in the hospital series The Doctors , which she impersonated until 1978 and again from 1981 until the series was discontinued in 1982. For this role, Hubbard received a Daytime Emmy Award in 1974 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series .

After hiring The Doctors , Hubbard took on the role of Estelle Chadwick in Love, Lie, Passion for a year . In 1984 she got her best-known role as Lucinda Walsh in Young and Passionate - As Life Plays , which she embodied for 26 years until September 2010. Hubbard also appeared in other television series and soaps during this time, including the 2009 Dutch soap opera Goede tijden, slechte tijden . She is still active as an actress and was nominated for another Daytime Emmy Award in 2016 for her role in the web series Anacostia .

Elizabeth Hubbard was married to David Bennett from 1970 until their divorce in 1972. The couple have a son who was born in 1971.
