Ethel Remey

Ethel Remey (born January 22, 1895 , † February 1979 ) was an American stage and television actress.

Life

Remey's career began in the theater: from 1922 to 1947 she appeared on Broadway in plays such as Rose Briar (1922), Claire Boothes hit comedy The Women (1936–38), Sing Out the News (1938/39) and Chicken Every Sunday (1944 / 45).

Remey worked extensively in television from 1949 to 1956, where she appeared as a supporting actress in such series as Studio One , Kraft Television Theater , The Philco Television Playhouse , The Guiding Light and True Story . Most of the attention went to the TV series As the World Turns , a soap opera that CBS has been producing since 1956. From 1963 to 1977 Remey played the role of Alma Miller, the mother of Lisa Miller ( Eileen Fulton ).
