Terry McMillan
Terry McMillan (born October 18, 1951 in Port Huron , Michigan ) is an American author.
Terry McMillan studied journalism at the University of Memphis and published her first book Mama in 1987 . Her third published work Waiting to Exhale became a bestseller and was made into a film in 1995.
In 1990 she published Beaking Ice , an anthology of contemporary Afro-American literature, she was included as author in the anthology Daughters of Africa , edited in 1992 by Margaret Busby in London and New York.
