action

Malcolm King is the rich, self-loving managing director of the marketing agency "King Industries", who behaves inconsiderately and selfishly towards his employees and fellow human beings. When his wife Renee files for divorce, his world still appears to be all right. As soon as she reveals to him, however, that she is about to take the majority of the property, King is instructed by his legal advisor, the Valentine's card written by him with the wording "... everything I have built, I have done for you ..." if his wife were right on this point, he would decide to take drastic measures to secure his property.

He plans to fake his kidnapping by the relevant criminal brother Herb of his lover Peaches. The US $ 10 million ransom extorted in this way is intended to reduce the portion Renee would be awarded.

Meanwhile, other people are also planning King's abduction without his knowledge. Angela, an employee of King who was passed over in a promotion, plans to kidnap King to seek revenge on him. Two other colleagues are privy to their plans. Regardless of the three employees, Corey also wants to kidnap King in order to be able to pay off his half-sister's $ 10,000 that he owes her.

Since Herb does not know his kidnapping victim King personally, he accidentally kidnaps Andre, one of King's employees, who poses as King to a loved one in order to impress her. Meanwhile, King is kidnapped by Renee's pool boy Byron. However, since Angela has manipulated King's limousine, the engine gives up after a short drive. The three women overpower Byron and take King over to their vehicle. After a short time, however, their vehicle is pushed off the street by Corey, who takes King into his power and hides it in the basement of his grandmother's house, where he also lives. It takes a few days for King to realize that he was actually kidnapped. While trying to escape, he meets his wife in the hallway of the house, who has followed Corey to hiding. Both are tied up in the basement by their kidnapper and spend some time there, talking and getting closer to each other.

Corey is recognized by Angela and her helpers on the street. After a short time, the police stand in front of Corey's grandmother's house, free the King couple and arrest Corey and Angela.

A very positive review comes from Philipp Fankhauser.

"" Who kidnaps Mr. King? "Is an extremely entertaining comedy with lots of funny interludes and successful situation comedy. Anthony Anderson plays his part very sympathetically, but unfortunately sometimes seems a bit implausible. The story is generally surprisingly comprehensive and multi-layered for a comedy, contains masses of interwoven events and is reminiscent of " Oceans Eleven " in terms of its complexity . Compliments on Wayne Conley's first script. "
