Jay Mohr (born August 23, 1970 in Verona , New Jersey ) is an American actor and comedian .

Life

Mohr first appeared in the television series ABC TGIF and Camp Wilder and from 1993 to 1995 in the comedy show Saturday Night Live . He also worked as a screenwriter for Saturday Night Live ; in 2004 he published a book about his experiences during this time. Since 2003 he has been producing the show Last Comic Standing . In 2004 he appeared as a guest on The Jim Rome Show , where he caused quite a stir with controversial remarks about Muhammad Ali and Ronald Reagan . He also had a guest appearance on the comedy series Scrubs as Doctor Peter Fisher.

In the film Jerry Maguire - Game of Life Mohr starred alongside Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger in 1996 , in 1997 in the film The Booked Man alongside Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Bacon and in 2000 in the film Das Glücksprinzip alongside Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt .

In 2013, Mohr took on a daily talk show on Fox Sports Radio called Jay Mohr Sports . Fox Sport Radio was distributed through the largest radio syndication provider Premiere Networks ( iHeart Media ) and could be heard on many Internet platforms and local stations. At the end of January 2017, Mohr stated that due to his appearances as a comedian and actor, he could no longer find time for the daily radio show and would therefore end it.

Mohr was married to actress Nicole Chamberlain from 1998 to 2004 , with whom he has a son. Since the beginning of 2006 Mohr was engaged to the actress Nikki Cox , whom he married on December 29, 2006 in Los Angeles and with whom he has another son, who was born on May 5, 2011. In 2016 Mohr filed for divorce, which became final two years later.

Mohr is currently the host of the Los Angeles Lakers' official podcast (America's Lakers Podcast).
