Gary Unmarried is an American sitcom directed by Ed Yeager and produced by CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios from 2008 to 2010 . The series revolves around a divorced couple who share custody of their two children while they make new friends. Ed Yeager and Ric Swartzlander served as executive producers during the first season . The series was known as Project Gary during production .
action
The series revolves around the life of Gary Brooks ( Jay Mohr ) and begins three months after he and his ex-wife Allison Brooks ( Paula Marshall ) have been divorced. Gary bought a painting company and bought his own house. Now his life is changing after the marriage and he is going on dates again.
Your children will now commute between the two of them and spend time with both parents. Her children are fourteen year old Tom and twelve year old Louise. Tom already has a girlfriend and has tried drinking alcohol . Louise plays the cello, hangs pictures of Gandhi , Al Gore and Che Guevara on the wall and watches C-SPAN. Allison says Gary is irresponsible to her children, while Gary thinks Allison is too boring. This also shows up again and again when they pick up the other's children.
In the pilot episode , Gary meets with young divorced mother Vanessa Flood. Allison, meanwhile, announces that she is working with her former marriage counselor, Dr. Walter Krandall, go. Tom invites a friend over for the first time.
The future of the three couples is uncertain (with the exception of Louise, who loves Al Gore). Vanessa ends her brief relationship with Gary because of his inability not to just talk about Allison.
Series finals
Gary finds out that he and Allison are still married and uses this information to manipulate them. When they have a romantic moment together, Gary tells her they are still married and Allison gets mad and leaves. At Curtis and Charleen's wedding, Gary decides to retake Allison. The series ends with Gary having to decide whether to choose Allison or Sasha.

At first only the 13 episodes customary in the industry were ordered. On November 14, 2008, CBS then ordered seven more episodes.
On May 10, 2009 it was announced that the two executive producers Yeager and Swartzlander will be leaving the series due to creative differences. On May 19, 2009, the series was extended for a second season. On May 18, 2010, the series was officially canceled along with Accidentally Happy and The New Adventures of Old Christine .
