Life

Kathryn Newton, who was born in 1997 and now lives with her family in Los Angeles , stood in front of the camera for the first time at the age of four . Initially as a child model on various front pages and in magazines (e.g. on the cover of Woman's Day in October 2002), over the course of time she also managed to get involved in commercials for numerous well-known brands and companies. For example, Clairol was featured in advertising films for Procter & Gambles , the children's sun protection Coppertone Kids Spectra 3 , the paper towel brand Bounty , which also belongs to the P&G Group, and the yoghurt brand Danimals , which belongs to the Danone Group , for which Dylan and Cole Sprouse were also in front of the camera to see. Work also followed in the commercials for the Food Network , the P&G detergent brand Tide , the retail group Gap Inc. and the former discounter Value City . She finally had her first television appearance in 2001 in the soap opera All My Children , where she played the role of the young Colby Marian Chandler - not to be confused with the character of Marian Colby Chandler , who also appears in the series - and this role up to and including 2004 held. Previously, the role was only introduced in 1999, with Carson Grace Levine (1999), Brianne and Morgan Mullan (2000) three different actresses previously appeared in their role as Colby Chandler . During her engagement, Newton was briefly replaced by Abby Wathen in 2002 . After leaving the longtime soap opera in 2004, her role was reintroduced in 2006, when Ambyr Childers took over her role. In 2008 she was finally followed by Brianne Moncrief , followed by Natalie Hall , who has played Colby Marian Chandler since 2009 . Parallel to her time at All My Children , Newton played one of the leading roles in the award-winning short film Abbie Down East in 2002 and also took on another key role in the also award-winning short film Bun-Bun .

After a few years without any significant involvement in film and television, she took over the role of Louise Brooks in the CBS television series Gary Unmarried in 2008 , after the somewhat older Laura Marano , who was actually intended for the role and who also shot the pilot episode , was kicked out of the cast. In 2011 she appeared in the movie Bad Teacher . Until the end of the series in 2010, she was used in all episodes produced, except for the pilot episode already mentioned, and has received multiple awards or nominations for her role. In 2010 she received the Young Artist Award in the category “Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) - Supporting Young Actress”, as well as the People's Choice Award for the series Gary Unmarried . The latter award ceremony is broadcast by the broadcaster CBS, on which the series was also shown, and produced by the versatile P&G group, for which Newton has worked several times over the years. A nomination in this category followed in 2009, and in 2011 Kathryn Newton was nominated again for a Young Artist Award. In 2011 she can also be seen in a supporting role in the film Bad Teacher . In 2012, Newton played the leading role in the fourth part of the Paranormal Activity series, for which she won the prize for best leading actress in a feature film alongside Quvenzhané Wallis at the 2013 Young Artist Awards .

In her free time, Newton plays golf successfully, which she shows in the series Gary Unmarried , where she is portrayed as a true natural. In real life, she has already participated in numerous major golf tournaments and qualified for the US Kids World Cup in 2008 . She is also active in golf-related sports and tournaments such as First Tee or US Kids Junior Golf .
