Laura Marie Marano (born November 29, 1995 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress and singer . She is the younger sister of Vanessa Marano , who also works as an actress. Laura Marano is also sporadically active as a voice actress. From 2011 to 2016, she starred in the Disney sitcom Austin & Ally .

Life

Born in 1995 in Los Angeles , California , Marano began her career as an actress at the age of five, when her sister Vanessa, who was three years older than her, was also at the beginning of her acting career. At first, together with her sister, she played in various plays at the Agoura Children's Theater in Agoura Hills , which is directed, among others, by her mother Ellen Marano , who was once an actress herself. Through engagements there, she finally found her way into television, where she was used in various commercials at the beginning of her career before she was offered her first film or television role. She had finally disappeared in a recurring role in the television series Without a Trace , where she and her sister mimed the daughters of the main character Special Agent John "Jack" Michael Malone (played by Anthony LaPaglia ). In this role she was seen in eight different episodes up to and including 2006. In addition, she got an engagement in the award-winning movie Finding Nemo that year, where she contributed numerous additional votes.

In the years that followed, the young Californian mainly appeared in television series, although she was also booked sporadically for film productions. For example, she was seen in an episode of The Heavenly Joan in 2004 and in an episode of Medical Investigation the following year and was also in the cast of The Jacket in 2005 , where she made her film debut and the young Jackie Price ( played by Keira Knightley ).
