characters

Leading roles

Austin Monica Moon
Austin ( Ross Lynch ) is a teenager who became known on the Internet as the singer of Ally's song and is now trying to maintain and increase his popularity. He lets Ally write the songs for himself and tries to help her too. His three favorite things are pancakes, LeBron James and cheerleaders. Also, from a childhood experience, he is afraid of umbrellas and other umbrellas. In the second season he has a brief relationship with Kira, but leaves it in the episode Partners & Parachutes (2x11) to get together with Ally. In season 2, episode 4, it is revealed that Austin's middle name is Monica and he doesn't like it.
Ally Dawson
Ally ( Laura Marano ) is a songwriter who suffers from extreme stage fright. She writes the songs for Austin. Ally works in her father's music business. The reason for her stage fright is revealed in the episode Filmmaking & Fear Breaking (1x15) and lies in a failed audition at the piano for the recording in a music school, during which she suddenly panicked. After her mother returned from Africa, she confronted her fears and made her first public appearance as a singer in the episode Chapters & Choices (2x10) (she had previously appeared in a Helloweed costume for Taylor Swift). After that, she and Austin become a couple. In "Couples and Careers", the episode after "Partners and Parachutes", they split up again because they both think it's only half as funny as a couple and just remain friends.
Patrisha Maria de la Rosa
Trish ( Raini Rodriguez ) is Ally's best friend and Austin's manager. In each episode (in the first episode in each scene) she works in a different job, for which she usually wears flashy clothes. She is usually fired or fired at the end of each episode. The exception here, however, is her work as Austin's manager, which she pursues ambitiously. Her full name is Patricia Maria de la Rosa .
Dec Hetfield Wade
Dez (Calum Worthy) is Austin's best friend. He shoots the music videos for him. He often carries very unusual items in his backpack, such as a brick. He loves romantic films and initially hides it from others. He often feels lonely when Austin has a girlfriend and just doing things with her.

Supporting roles

  • Lester Dawson ( Andy Milder ) is Ally's father and the owner of the Sonic Boom music store . Barely caring about Ally's musical talent, he says she has a bazillion-one chance of getting out. He is very stingy.
  • Nelson (Cole Sand) is a young boy who takes music lessons from Ally. He often brings a particularly large instrument with him.
  • Dallas (Noah Centineo) is Ally's crush. First he sells cell phone accessories on the beach. He works briefly as a temporary worker in the Sonic Boom , but Ally has to throw him out against her feelings because he is too clumsy.
  • Mindy ( Ashley Fink ) runs a restaurant where the waiters are singing. She likes to order others around and is also in love with Dez, but he doesn't reply.
  • Shiny Money (James Earl) is a rapper. Austin appears twice in his shows (1x04 and 1x17) with Shiny Money getting injured both times in the end. He lets Austin and his friends on his houseboat to write a song.
  • Jimmy Starr (Richard Whiten) is the founder and owner of the record company Star Records , to which Austin has been under contract since the end of the first season (1x18 Successes & Setbacks ).

She can be seen for the first time at the beginning of the second season (episode Backups & Breakups ) in a video chat with her daughter. She returns from Africa in the episode Chapters & Choices (2x10).
  • Kira Starr (Kiersey Clemons) is the daughter of Jimmy Starr, which she initially hides when she is cast on Austin's music video so as not to influence the decision. At first she had a bad breath, but it later disappeared. In the episode Girlfriends & Girl Friends (2x08) she becomes Austin's friend, who leaves her shortly afterwards. Shortly after Jimmy Star finds out his daughter is dating Austin, Kira and Austin split up.
