PrankStars is an American reality television series . The series is hosted by Mitchel Musso and premiered on July 15, 2011 on the US Disney Channel. In the series, children and their families are duped by well-known actors. Disney announced that Selena Gomez ( Wizards of Waverly Place ) and Debby Ryan ( Jessie ) will appear on the first episode. The successor format Code: 9 has been broadcast in the USA since July 2012 , which de facto has canceled the series.

The Walt Disney Company ordered a total of ten episodes for the first season . Since Mitchel Musso was arrested in October 2011 for driving under the influence of psychoactive substances , the station has decided not to show any further episodes of the series in the United States until further notice. In the UK , however, two additional episodes of were PrankStars broadcast.
