Characters

Leading roles

Jason Earles plays Rudy

Sensei Rudy Gillespie ( Jason Earles ) was once one of the best in amateur martial arts whose career was thrown off course by an injury. With all his savings, he founded the Bobby Wasabi Martial Arts Academy , which is soon threatened with closure, which he and the children can prevent. He later starts a relationship with the teacher Ms. Applebottom. In the fourth season he opens a new dojo. At the end of the fourth season, he is offered a place at the Otai Academie as Sensei, but he refuses.

Jack Brewer (Leo Howard) is the new guy in town and a seasoned martial artist and skateboarder. He learned karate from his grandfather, who also trained Bobby Wasabi for his films. Jack is the best and most experienced fighter in the dojo, but always remains loyal to his friends, even when he briefly competes for the Black Dragons. It is repeatedly suggested that he has feelings for Kim, and he eventually asks her out on a date in the episode Kickin 'It On Our Own (2x22). In the episode Wasabi forever they kiss for the first time and again in the episode Seaford Hustle .

Olivia Holt plays Kim

Kim Crawford ( Olivia Holt ) is the only girl in the dojo. She previously belonged to the Black Dragons, but changed dojo when she found out that they were cheating. As a martial artist, she is sometimes not taken seriously, including by Jack, who deliberately let her win a duel and first had to ask him for a long time to really fight him. She leaves the dojo after the third season to study at the Otai Academy, but returns in the penultimate episode.

Milton David Krupnick (Dylan Riley Snyder) is a very intelligent student who takes up martial arts after being bullied by his classmates.

Jerry Martinez (Mateo Arias) is a lone wolf who first comes to the dojo to collect credit for school. He is of Latin American descent and is fluent in Spanish. Jerry is a gifted dancer. He's tough on the outside, but he always stands by his friends, especially Jack.

Eddie (Alex Christian Jones) goes to Bobby Wasabi to get in shape, but he's not the best martial artist.
