Ross Shor Lynch (born December 29, 1995 in Littleton , Colorado ) is an American singer , actor and dancer , best known for his role as Austin Moon in the television series Austin & Ally .

Life

Ross Lynch was born in 1995 in Littleton, Colorado, the second youngest of five siblings. He is the cousin of Derek and Julianne Hough .

Ross can play the piano, drums, guitar and bass and took violin lessons. In 2009 he took part in the talent show So You Think You Can Dance , the US version of You Can Dance .

Career

Music career

Ross Lynch is one of the founding members of the band R5 , which he formed with his siblings and a friend named Ellington Ratliff. The band released their first EP on March 9, 2010, entitled Ready Set Rock . In April 2012, the band announced that they had received a record deal with Hollywood Records and that they were touring American clubs from May 3-15, 2012.

Ross Lynch released two of his own songs in 2012 called A Billion Hits and Heard It on the Radio , both of which can also be heard on the Austin & Ally series . On February 19, 2013, R5 released their second EP called Loud .

In 2018 he founded the band "The Driver Era" with his brother Rocky Lynch.

Acting career

He began his acting career in 2010 with the short film Grapple! in which he played the lead role of Aaron . He made his breakthrough as an actor with the role of Austin Moon in the Disney Channel aired youth series Austin & Ally , which he has held since 2011. In the summer of 2013, he starred as Brady in the Disney Channel Original Movie Teen Beach Movie, starring Maia Mitchell . In 2014 he had a supporting role as a florist in the movie Muppets Most Wanted .

In the movie My Friend Dahmer , Lynch starred in the lead role of the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer . The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival .

He plays the role of Harvey Kinkle in the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina .
