The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (also known by the acronym KCA ) is an American award ceremony . Blimps , zeppelin-shaped prizes with the logo of the station Nickelodeon , are awarded in various categories . The award was created in the United States in 1986 under the name The Big Ballot . Since then, the show has taken place annually in the USA and is an integral part of the Nickelodeon television station. In the German-speaking region, the Nickelodeon Deutschland broadcaster awarded the orange Zeppelin in 1996 and 1997 under the name Nick Verleihung. Since 2007, the award ceremony has been taking place in Germany based on the US model .

The Kids Choice Awards are given with a vote of children and young people. At the same time, there are also the Teen Choice Awards , which, however, are not broadcast in Germany.
