Dove Olivia Cameron (* 15. January 1996 in Seattle , Washington as Chloe Celeste Hosterman ) is an American actress and singer .

Life

Dove Cameron was born in Seattle , Washington , in January 1996 . Her maiden name is Chloe, but her father called her Dove very early on. After his death, she decided to take Dove as her official name. At the age of eight she began acting in the city theater. She moved to Los Angeles at the age of 14 to attend professional drama school. She went to Burbank High School. Cameron made her acting debut in two episodes of the television series Shameless . She then appeared in guest roles in The Mentalist and Malibu Country .

Your breakthrough Cameron with the double lead role of twins Liv Rooney and Maddie Rooney in the Disney Channel - Youth Series Liv and Maddie , which aired from July 2013 to March 2017 on the transmitter. In January 2014 she played the role of Kayla Morgan in the Disney Channel original movie Halfpipe Feeling alongside Luke Benward .

In 2015, Cameron starred as Mal , the daughter of Maleficent, in the Disney Channel original movie Descendants . She embodies the same role in the 2017 sequel Descendants 2 - The Descendants and also in Descendants 3 - The Descendants in 2019 . She also starred in Secret Agency - Barely Lethal and RL Stine - Ghost Town: Cabinet of Terror . In December 2016 she was in the NBC Live Musical Hairspray Live! as Amber from Tussle .

Cameron is also active as a singer. Her two songs, Count Me In and Better in Stereo , the latter is also the theme song of the Liv and Maddie series , each achieved first place in the Kid Digital Songs on Billboard. She recorded the song Rotten to the Core and the ballad If Only with her fellow actors Cameron Boyce , Booboo Stewart & Sofia Carson from Descendants . Both songs got on the Billboard Hot 100 . In October 2015, she formed a band called The Girl and the Dreamcatcher with her then boyfriend Ryan McCartan . This brought out their first EP in mid-July 2016 after individual songs and music videos had already been released.

Since August 2013 she was in a relationship with her fellow actor Ryan McCartan from Liv and Maddie . The couple announced their engagement on April 14, 2016, but separated again in October of the same year.

In July 2017 she appeared in the musical Mamma Mia! in the role of Sophie at the Hollywood Bowl .

In April 2018, she won a Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Perfomer in a Children's Series category for Liv and Maddie .
