The Lodge is a British youth - dramedy with Mystery and Musical -elements of the Walt Disney Company , which on the Israeli series Northern Star is based. The series is produced by the production company Zodiak Kids. It premiered on September 23, 2016 on Disney Channel in the UK and Ireland. The German-language first broadcast took place on November 18, 2016 on the free TV station Disney Channel .

The 15-year-old Skye moves with her father from the English city to rural Northern Ireland to take over the family-run country hotel North Star , which is currently run by Skye's grandfather. Arrived in her new home, Skye tries to build a new life. But this new life is not free from complications.
Skye has to navigate through the everyday problems of being a teenager and tries to integrate into a group of young people who work and live in the country hotel. In addition to new friends, she also finds people who have no good intentions towards Skye. Skye also falls in love with Sean.
Skye suffers another setback when she learns that her father is planning to sell the country hotel. But Skye has developed an emotional bond with the country hotel, and is also attached to this place because of the many precious memories. Especially since her mother, who passed away some time ago, spent most of her life here. Which is why Skye decides to convince her father not to sell the country hotel.
On the way to change her father's mind, Skye gets the support of her friends. But not everyone is interested in the country hotel's continued existence. Over time, Skye uncovered some secrets and intrigues that will not only change your life, but also lead to the closure of the country hotel.

In July 2015 the British Disney Channel gave the green light for the production of the series The Lodge , which at that time still had the working title North Star . Originally 13 episodes with a running time of 22 minutes were announced for the first season, but these were later reduced to 10 episodes. The main character Skye was originally supposed to bear the name Maia (Hebrew spelling: Maya), as it was based on the Israeli series Northern Star . The series The Lodge is mostly in Northern Ireland in County County Down rotated. Most of the scenes are created near Ballynahinch.
