Northern Star ( Hebrew original title: כוכב הצפון ; in German Der Polarstern ; also known as North Star ) is an Israeli youth - dramedy with mystery elements by the Walt Disney Company , which was produced by Herzliya Studios. The series premiered on November 30, 2014 on the Israeli Disney Channel . In the series, different actors have יומני החופש הגדול as their characters from the previous seriesa guest appearance. In February 2015, the Disney Channel gave the go-ahead for the production of a final second season, which premiered on March 6, 2016. The Northern Star series finale was broadcast on June 16, 2016 on the Israeli Disney Channel.
The British Disney Channel is producing an adaptation of the Northern Star series under the title The Lodge (working title: North Star ), which started on September 23, 2016.

The 15-year-old Maya moves with her father from Tel Aviv to a remote village to take over the family-run Hotel Northern Star , which is currently run by Maya's grandfather Gideon. Once in her new home, Maya tries to build a new life. But this new life is not free from complications.
Maya has to navigate through the everyday problems of being a teenager and tries to intrigue with a group of teenagers who work and live in the hotel. In addition to new friends, she also finds people who have no good intentions towards Maya. Maya also falls in love with Sean.
Maya suffers another setback when she discovers that there is more to the death of her mother, who died some time ago. In addition, Maya has not yet properly processed her death, and her father slowly falls in love with a woman named Yully, who is producing a reality show about the hotel. But the hotel itself is also threatened. Maya has developed an emotional bond with the hotel and is also attached to this place because of the many precious memories, especially since her late mother spent most of her life in this place. Why Maya decides to save the hotel and find out more about her mother's past.
On the way to save the hotel and find out more about her mother's past, Maya gets the support of her friends. But not everyone is interested in the hotel's continued existence. The search for the truth about her mother is also difficult. But Maya comes across some secrets and intrigues over time, which will not only change her life, but can also lead to the closure of the hotel.
The central theme of the series is: To have the courage and the ability to accept change, overcome it, pursue your dreams, be honest and stay true to your own principles.
