Sofia Carson (born April 10, 1993 in Fort Lauderdale , Florida ) is an American actress and singer .

Life

Acting career

Sofia Carson began her acting career in 2014 with a small role in the Disney Channel - sitcom Austin & Ally . In the same year, she played the role of Soleil in Faking It in two episodes .

In 2014 she got a lead role in the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants - The Descendants of Kenny Ortega , which premiered on Disney Channel in the summer of 2015. In the television film, she can be seen alongside Dove Cameron and Mitchell Hope and plays the role of Evie , the daughter of the Evil Queen. She also played the same role in the sequels Descendants 2 - The Descendants (2017) and Descendants 3 - The Descendants (2019).

In 2016 she starred alongside Sabrina Carpenter in The Night of Crazy Adventures , also a Disney Channel Original Movie. Carson took on the role of Melanie in the Argentine feature film Tini: Violetta's Future , the sequel to the telenovela Violetta , in 2016 . In the 2016 musical comedy Cinderella Story 4 - When the Shoe Fits ... Carson played the lead role of Tessa Golden . In 2016 she made a guest appearance in Soy Luna as herself.

In late January 2018, Carson landed the lead role of Ava in the freeform drama series Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists , a spin-off from Pretty Little Liars . That same year she had a supporting role on the network as Sloane in Famous in Love . In June 2020, the film Feel the Beat was released on Netflix, in which Carson played the lead role of April Dibrina .

Music career

In March 2016, it was announced that Carson had signed a recording deal with Hollywood Records and Republic Records . Her debut single Love Is The Name was released on April 8, 2016. It was a remake / remake of Opus Hit Live Is Life . At the end of August 2016, she released her second single I'm Gonna Love You . The song Back to Beautiful , which was released as a single in 2017 , was created in collaboration with the Norwegian DJ and producer Alan Walker . The single Ins and Outs was released in the summer . In August 2018 her new single Rumors was released together with the DJ R3hab . Alan Walker released his new single Different World together with Sofia Carson and K-391 as well as CORSAK in November 2018 . In 2019 Carson released the single Gray Area together with Gray . Together with R3hab she released two more singles, I luv U (2019) and Miss U More Than U Know (2020).
