action

After their marriage, the Beast and Belle unite all the famous fairy tale kingdoms in the United States by Auradon and are elected King and Queen. The villains and their helpers were banished to the Isle of the Lost, a slum-like island. There they are surrounded by a barrier that prevents the use of magic. 20 years later, the coronation of Ben, son of Belle and the Beast, is imminent. As his first act, Ben wants to give the children who grew up on the Isle of the Lost the chance to live in Auradon. Although they are skeptical, his parents support this idea. The children chosen are: Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil, Jay, son of Jafar, Evie, daughter of the wicked Queen Grimhilde, and Mal, daughter of Maleficent. The quartet is causing mischief ( "Rotten to the Core" ) until they are interrupted by Maleficent, who brings the four of them the news. She tells her daughter and the others that they should steal the fairy godmother's magic wand during their stay so that evil can regain power. At Auradon High, Carlos, Jay, Evie and Mal are greeted by the fairy godmother, the headmistress, as well as by Ben and his friend Audrey. During the introductory tour, Mal flirts with Ben and Evie with Doug. That night, Evie uses her mother's magic mirror to find the wand, which is in a nearby museum. To put the guard to sleep, Mal uses her mother's magic book and activates the spinning wheel that her mother used on Aurora. You see statues of their parents and realize how impressive they once were. Mal is convinced that by stealing her magic wand she will get more recognition from her mother ( "Evil Like Me" ). Jay tries to take the wand, but is pushed off by a barrier, triggering an alarm. Mal and her friends have to flee.

Jay is being recruited for school sports based on his physical fitness. Carlos also makes it into the team thanks to Jay. Evie cheats with the magic mirror on math problems and approaches Prince Chad. Later he wants to meet Evie in the stands because he wants to take advantage of her to do his homework. She learns from Doug that the fairy godmother will bless him with her wand at Ben's coronation. Sometimes the fairy godmother's daughter, Jane, manipulates because she is not in good contact with her mother. Jane believes through Mal that only her mother's wand can make her more beautiful.

Mal learns that only Ben's parents and girlfriend are allowed to be with him at the coronation. With the help of an intrigue, she wants to become Ben's friend. For this reason, she bakes him chocolate chip cookies that contain a love potion. The next day she gives it to Ben and he eats it. Jay, Carlos and Ben work together to win the tournament. After the win, Ben confesses his love for Mal ( "Did I Mention" ). Audrey is appalled and announces that Chad is her new boyfriend. Much to the displeasure of Evie, who is also betrayed by Chad, who has told the teacher that Evie has a magic mirror. She has to take the test without help and gets a good grade for it. She realizes that she doesn't have to reduce herself to just being beautiful. Doug, who believed in her all along, eventually befriends Evie. Ben asked Mal out on a date and the two of them spend a picnic together at the lake. While Ben is swimming, Mal realizes how confused she is because she has fallen in love with Ben ( "If Only" ). When Ben disappears, Mal jumps into the lake, even though she cannot swim. Ben saves and asks her if she will return his love. Mal replies that she doesn't know what love feels like.

They are allowed to communicate with parents during family day. In this conversation, Maleficent makes it clear to them again how important their mission is before the parents quarrel. Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay feel bad after the chat because they have all settled into Auradon. Ben introduces Mal to his parents, who are shocked by their son's new girlfriend. The festival also spins out of control when Audrey's grandmother, Queen Leah, berates Mal and Chad insults the group. After that day the four are avoided and they swear to carry out the mission.

Shortly before the coronation, Mal undoes the spell on Ben because she doesn't want Ben to suffer for her after the truth. However, Ben confesses to her that he knew all along that the chocolate chip cookies were enchanted, but that his feelings for her were real. After the coronation by the fairy godmother, Jane snatches the wand from her to perform the beauty spell. Since she is unable to use her wand, she damages the barrier to the Isle of the Lost. Sometimes Jane snatches the wand to open the barrier, but Ben stops her. He believes in the good in her and Mal also slowly in himself. Maleficent has already escaped and appears in the castle. She demands the wand from her daughter, but Mal refuses to do so. This leads to the final duel in which Maleficent transforms into a dragon. Sometimes she manages to hit her mother and she turns into a lizard. Afterwards everyone celebrates the coronation of Ben ( "Set It Off" ).
